Now here’s a Sydney Harbour you won’t find on a postcard. The waterways west of the Bridge provide the backdrop for a unique maritime experience developed by the celebrated Tasmanian company Big hART.  

You’ll board one of Sydney’s historic Rosman ferries – along with a company of musicians, sound artists, shipwrights and deckhands – and embark on a sonic expedition to the unsung places of our iconic working harbour.  

During a series of original performances inspired by the boatsheds, workshops and waterways in which you experience them, you’ll sink into the varying soundscapes of places shaped by time, tide and trade, each one bearing the unique patina of decades of service.

All patrons must be ready to board no later than 15 minutes prior to your designated session below. All ferries have a strict departure time and will not return for late comers. Please board near the Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse at the Australian National Maritime Museum.


Duration: 3 hrs 15 mins

Ticket buyers before Tuesday 18 January can pre-purchase a picnic box to enjoy on the ferry; see important info for more.

Performance Times

All patrons must be ready to board no later than 15 minutes prior to your designated session below. All ferries have a strict departure time and will not return for late comers. Please board near the Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse at the Australian National Maritime Museum.

Accessibility

Patrons will embark and disembark ferries via a gangplank and manoeuvre over uneven surfaces. There may be a few stairs to navigate based on tidal patterns. Please contact our friendly customer services team for more information and photo references.

Performances inside the boatsheds will be a standing event, please inform our front of house team on the day if you require a seat.

The maximum distance patrons will independently travel on the journey is approx. 250 metres from ferry to boatshed. Please let our front of house team know if you need assistance at any time throughout the journey.
