Two of Australia’s most talented and widely acclaimed musicians join forces for a night of inspiring music.
Internationally renowned jazz trumpeter James Morrison has been a star since his debut, aged just sixteen, at the iconic Monterey Jazz Festival. Now an icon of the Australian music scene, Morrison has toured the world playing with legends like Dizzy Gillespie, Quincy Jones and Herbie Hancock, performed for queens and presidents, and recorded with both INXS and the London Symphony Orchestra.
But on home turf, with local collaborators, he shines brightest of all. In a perfect pairing, Morrison is joined by fellow multi-instrumentalist William Barton, a proud Kalkadunga man whose extraordinary musicality and virtuoso command of the didgeridoo have seen him perform with the Berlin and London Philharmonic Orchestra and many of Australia’s finest ensembles. Barton’s generosity of sound and spirit translates into rich live performances, whether he’s on stage with a local rock band, composing for theatre or fronting a full orchestra.
Together, these acclaimed artists craft an unmissable modern Australian sound.
